Braimah Kamoko dominated and subdued Ayitey Powers on Thursday night in front of a sell-out crowd at the Accra Sports Stadium to claim a unanimous decision victory in the much awaited fight.
After months of verbal jostling Banku came out as the aggressor and gave his opponent a torrid beating; Bukom Banku landed at will with several brutal uppercuts that sent Ayittey Powers wobbling throughout the fight.
In the first round the two boxers came out with series of vicious combinations, but Banku was able to eat the punches and continued pushing forward.
The action continued in the second round with Bukom Banku establishing himself as the superior man on the night. The slow concussive beating continued throughout the fight with a lot of damage on the face of Ayittey Powers, he was able to stay on his feet despite taking a number of vicious shots.
Following the end of seven rounds Bukom Banku was clearly ahead on points. Banku couldn’t miss, but Powers failed to land any significant shot.
Roars from the crowd got louder after each round as they were hugely entertained by Bukom Banku.
The bout ended with all three judges scoring the fight in favor of Bukom Banku, the score cards read 117-109, 119-100, 120-108. It was a great night for Bukom Banku, he goes home with the bragging right and kept his undefeated record intact. For Powers, he left his fans visibly angered and disappointed with his performance.
