India crush Ghana 5-0 in badminton

Ghana’s badminton team succumb to a 5-0 loss to an impressive India side in a Group B match in the mixed team event at the commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

Daniel Sam was crushed by 2010 bronze medalist Parupalli Kashyap 21-6 in the men’s single, Sarah Amassah was also crushed 21-7 by  PV Sindhu in the womens singles to give India a 2-0 lead.

In the doubles category Emmanuel Donkor and Abraham Ayittey were overwhelmed  21-7, 21-11 by Ashkay Dewalkar and Pranaav Chopra. Evelyn Botwe and Diana Archer failed to win against Jwala Gutta and Ahwinin Ponnapa.

Finally, PC Thulasi and Kidambi Srikanth - both singles players - paired up and trounced another makeshift combination of Sam and Amasah 21-5 21-9 in a mixed doubles match to put an end to Ghana's misery at the Emirates Arena.
